You don’t have to live in Florida to cheer on Orlando City SC. After all, the players have fans throughout the country and beyond. Competing as a part of the Eastern Conference in Major League Soccer, this team first started to play in 2015. Since then, they’ve become quite popular.

The Backstory

Back in 2013, Orlando City SC became the 21st franchise. It wasn’t until the following year that the organization revealed the logo. Soon after, they signed the first player. Kaka, who previously played professional soccer in Brazil, became the first designated player for the team. Not too long after, two additional players signed on.

Starting in 2018 and through 2020, the team faced several challenges. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, further disrupting the Orlando City SC efforts. Then in 2021, Flavio Augusto da Silva, the primary owner, sold the team to Zygi and Mark Wilf. As the owners of the Minnesota Vikings, they felt passionate about the new venture.

From that time forward, the team has done a remarkable job. For example, they won their first trophy in the fall of last year. In addition, they qualified to play in the CONCACAF Champions League this year after winning the US Open Cup.

An Exciting Future

With coach Oscar Pareja and incredible talent on the field, Orlando City SC deserves the fan’s support.
