We love getting the chance to experience foods from all over the world. And we love it even more when we can do it whenever we want, right here in Orlando! One of our favorite local restaurants, Ceviche House, allows patrons to sample delicious Peruvian fare, without ever having to cross the equator.

The Story

Ceviche House was created out of the owners’ desire to bring their love for authentic Peruvian cuisine, and their Peruvian heritage, to the United States. They’ve been serving fresh, authentic, high-end Peruvian food for the last 12 years. Customers love Ceviche House for both the quality of the food and the welcoming ambiance.

The Cuisine

The food of Peru is one of the world’s most diverse cuisines in terms of ingredients and cooking techniques, thanks to centuries of immigration to the country. Because of the country’s rich history, Peruvian cuisine has seen influences from Spain, Africa, and Asia. Its dishes rely heavily on potatoes, rice, corn, beans, eggs, beef, lamb, chicken, fish, and the Aji, or chili. The chili pepper can be credited for much of the stronger flavors in the dishes, which build most heavily on Spanish and indigenous foods.

The Menu

The extensive menu at Ceviche House is a carefully curated collection of soups, ceviches, and traditos, as well as a wealth of beef, chicken, and seafood dishes. There’s the classic Lomo Saltado or Pollo Saltado (beef and chicken, respectively). This is a traditional Peruvian dish of meat, sauteed with onions, served over rice and french fries. The ceviche menu offers diners options for fish, shrimp, mussels, squid, and octopus. You can also get a Black Angus steak served Peruvian-style…with French fries. And, of course, they serve Peru’s specialty fruit juice, Chicha Morada.
